From the photographer: The giant oak doors swung open, and Makayla stepped out onto the wide porch of the Oaks at Salem.

She held the train of her beautiful white dress, and took a deep breath. Just down the steps, her future husband was waiting. His back was towards her, and even though she couldn’t see it, a giant smile was on Ganesh’s face. He was about to see his bride on their wedding day for the first time.

As she made her way down the stairs, the birds were singing, the leaves were rustling…but time seemed to stand still. It was just the two of them. Just this moment. And as she stepped closer to him, Makayla laid a hand on Ganesh’s shoulder.

He turned around, and caught his breath. There she was. His best friend. His almost-wife. In the most incredible gown he had ever seen. A huge smile spread over his face, and Ganesh pulled Makayla in for the tightest embrace. The two of them held each other, half-laughing, half-crying, basking in the thought that this was their day.

This was their day. The day they had been waiting for. The day they would become husband and wife.

And what a beautiful day it was!!! After having a very romantic, but extremely rainy engagement session, the bride and groom prayed so hard for the rain to hold off for their wedding.  And they were blessed with wonderful weather!

From their incredibly sweet First Look, to the outdoor ceremony by a beautiful lake; from to their first dance at husband and wife, to the amazing sparkler exit at the end of the night…IT. WAS. AMAZING. Every piece of their day.

Their wedding was held at the Oaks at Salem - an incredible private event venue in the Triangle area.  With three stories of beautiful getting-ready-suites, an outdoor tented area for covered receptions, a fountain in the lush blue pond, and a garden wall ceremony site on the other side of the water - The Oaks at Salem is an incredible wedding location and offers many choices for couples to choose for their big day.

Makayla and Ganesh's wedding was planned in an matter of just 4 or 5 months, but you would not have been able to tell from all of the details!  Their families came together to plan a beautiful multi-cultural event.  With traditional Indian music as a background, and the giving of ceremony Leis as Makayla and Ganesh exchanged rings, the wedding was truly the blending of two cultures....while proving that elegance doesn't have to be over-the-top.  Just the uniting of two people who are very much in love. :)
