Brunch Chapel Hill Wedding

Brunch Chapel Hill Wedding.

Tell us about your wedding inspiration:  When we first started thinking about our wedding, we both wanted something small that was truly a reflection of us. It was so important to us that we not compare our wedding to anyone else’s, which is much easier said than done in this world of social media and Pinterest comparisons. For us, that meant incorporating those things that we knew people could point to and say “Oh, that’s so Nate and Brandy!” – like bourbon cocktails, our love of UNC, brunch food, oversized mint julep cups to hold beautiful white flowers, etc. We wanted a beautiful, simple celebration of not only the love we have for one another, but all the love and support we regularly receive from our friends and family.

Any special details or fun memories from wedding day you'd like to share? Family is so very important to both of us – it’s one of the things we each loved about the other from early on in our relationship! There were certain members of our families that we wanted to make sure we incorporated in a special way. For me, it was having my “first look” with my nephew and having him walk me down the aisle. For Nate, it was sharing a special dance with his grandmother, “Mamaw.”

Nate’s friends are like family to him as well, and one of his only stipulations regarding the wedding was that he wanted to make sure that his closest friends were standing up there beside him on our big day. That meant that he had eight groomsmen to his left and a special officiant to his right. One of our closest friends from college was the one who married us. It was very important to Nate and me that someone who knew us and our story was the one who pronounced us husband and wife. It made it even more special that he had known us both separately before we had even met one another, so he truly has seen this relationship develop from the beginning.
