Kenly and Nate got married on a brisk and beautiful fall day in Chapel Hill, NC. The only place Kenly could ever imagine getting married. She attended school at UNC and is a huge Tar Heel fan! They were married at the University United Methodist Church on Franklin Street followed by their reception in the ballroom of the Carolina Club, right next to the Tar Heels football stadium. They had a very elegant black and white color palette with gorgeous floral decor.

Q: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal. A: Nate and I actually met on a dating app called Bumble. Nate had recently moved from Nebraska to Raleigh and besides his aunt, uncle, and cousins in Raleigh, didn't really know anyone in the area. We met up at a bar on a Thursday night in January of 2017, and as they say, the rest is history. We were basically inseparable for two weeks straight...and then baseball season called. Nate left for spring training in Arizona a few short weeks later and I immediately booked a ticket to go see him. We made it a priority to see each other about once a month so I would travel all throughout the Gulf to wherever his baseball team was playing just to see him for a few days.Nate and I had planned a trip to Topsail Island, NC with my brother and his fiancé for New Years Eve. My family has a beach house there and it's always been a very special place for me. New Years Eve day, I decided to whip up some tacos for everyone and I will say, I made quite the impressive spread. After I had put all of the food out, everyone just looked at me and told me they weren't hungry and wanted to go for a walk on the beach (it was literally freezing outside..). I was annoyed that no one ate any of the food I had prepared but I bundled up and we walked over to the beach. Like any basic couple, my brother and his fiancé and Nate and I partook in a photo session on the beach. As we were taking a picture, I look over and Nate was down on one knee. My initial response was to push him away because I thought he was joking but once I realized he was serious I melted in his arms. I was in for even more of a surprise. As we were walking back to the beach house I heard screams and cheers coming from our balcony and looked up and Nate had arranged for my parents and my sister's family to meet us at the beach to celebrate! I was so surprised and excited to see my whole family! It was such a fun day full of celebrating and then ringing in the new year as a newly engaged couple.
