Ryan Nicholas Inn Wedding

Ryan Nicholas Inn Wedding

Ryan Nicholas Inn Wedding - Greenville, SC.

Maddie started her wedding planning process saying she wanted to do things differently. She wanted to be intentional and personal in her planning. I think this submission would fit TCM because this wedding was beautiful aesthetically but more so because the bride really tried to make their day lovely for everyone. She has written a piece about planning intentionally. I have included it.

I loved photographing and serving this couple and their families so much. They understood the importance of marriage and what this day meant. The whole day was filled with happy tears from the moment Shaun opened his gift from Maddie where she put together a pop up scrapbook of everything they had done together (note: they have known each other since kindergarten), to Maddie’ s father seeing her for the first time in her dress where he gave her a bible with her new name on it, to when Maddie stared into Shaun’s eyes and just took at the moment. Their ceremony was God-honoring and it was a real-time of worship.

What I noticed about Shaun throughout the day was that he cared about the details and he is totally a romantic. He had been waiting a long time for his bride and he wanted to savor every minute. Maddie’s parents walked her to the first look because her dad wanted to. When Shaun turned around he lost it and sobbed as he held her in his arms. Maddie has known him her whole life and had never seen him cry. He was so incredibly happy and could not take his eyes off of her. The love is deep and the roots strong. After the first look, Maddie’s father leads them in communion. It was very sweet and emotional. It felt very intimate and not ceremonial when it is just a couple of people.

Maddie was one of the most beautiful and thoughtful brides I have ever met. As a last-minute surprise, Maddie had the Clemson Tiger come to the wedding reception as a surprise for Shaun. Both of them are huge Clemson fans, so it meant a lot to Shaun. The dancing at this reception was incredible as well. Maddie has been a dancer and cheerleader for years and her whole team was there to celebrate with her!
