Sweet Mountaintop Elopement

Sweet Mountaintop Elopement

Sweet Mountaintop Elopement.

I met in high school but did not start dating until we reconnected through mutual friends after college.

He proposed to me in Boone, NC on November 3, 2018. He originally wanted to propose outside on one of our favorite trails along the parkway, however, the weather was really cruddy that weekend so he ended up proposing to me in front of the stone fireplace in our cabin.

Together we love to hike, whether it be along the parkway or around our local Durham area at the Eno River. We visit western NC several times a year and the mountains are a very special place for us. We love to go out to lavish dinners and have dates at the movies. We also spend a lot of time at the lake during the spring/summer swimming, paddle boarding, and other various water-related activities. We also enjoy quiet nights at home with takeout and Netflix and our two little dogs. Brad is a car guy, he owns an automotive repair shop and he and his father restore old cars together on the side. I am a radiation therapist and I enjoy crafting (anything farmhouse chic), reading, online shopping and drinking red wine. I am also a vegetarian. We both love animals, especially our two little dogs, Chunk and Wiley.

The parkway has always held a very special place in our hearts and has played an integral part in our relationship. We both love spending time in the mountains and originally wanted to get married in the Boone area. Very early on in our relationship we took a two-week vacation and drove the entire stretch of the NC parkway and hiked every trail along the way, stopping only to eat and sleep at night. Ever since then we have revisited our favorite places over and over again and stay in the mountains several times a year. Brad owns his own business near our current home and that is pretty much the only reason why we haven't relocated permanently to the mountains. I was looking at wedding blogs and came across a blog titled "Katie and Michael's Black Balsam Elopement" and I saw a link to your page and I said this is it. This is exactly what I envisioned. So that is how I arrived at the decision to use your company and this specific venue. We actually haven't personally hiked Black Balsam yet, but intend to do it this spring when we come for engagement photos. But, judging by the beautiful photos it is exactly what I envisioned.

I am looking forward to standing across from the love of my life, the man that has been alongside me through it all, who supports me endlessly and exchange vows and finally kiss him as Mrs. Light. I am also looking forward to the moment that he sees me for the first time in my dress. I would love for this day to be stress-free and magical.
