Marriage License
Marriage License- Make it official: In order to legally get married in North and South Carolina, you must get a marriage license from a local Register of Deeds Office. Upon your visit, you and your partner must fill out an application (be sure you know your Social Security numbers!) and present valid IDs (a driver's license, passport, military ID or state-issued ID card).
In North Carolina, a marriage license costs $60 and is valid for 60 days. In South Carolina, marriage license costs vary from county to county and are valid for six months. In both states, the license can be used in any county. Be sure to check out local and state government websites for more details.
